Eliminating sugar and cars has no effect - what's going on?

Hi all,
To cut a long story as short as possible, I've had Rosacea for about ten years and have tried the usual topical treatments/antibiotics with no improvement at all. My research, particularly reading on this site, has led me to believe that food is my major trigger, although cold weather is also a factor for me.

Oddly though I seem to be the opposite of almost everyone else. I have tried variations of the paleo diet, Gaps diet and other low carbohydrate diets without success, in fact they seem to make things worse for me. When I am not eating carbs I flush all the time, increasing meat intake causes crippling gut pain and extreme flushing. I also loose weight dramatically quickly when I stop eating carbs, and as I am already underweight and cannot gain weight no matter what I try this sort of diet is no longer and options for me.

Really bizarrely I can almost guarantee a clear, pale skin day by eating nothing but refined sugars the day before (not that I do this often because I know it's not good for me!). Another thing that seems to provide relief from flushing is not sleeping. The less I eat the better my skin seems to be generally.

I know none of this makes sense and I am starting to wonder if I really even have rosacea. My best guess is that I have some form of very disturbed gut function, but I do not know the source of this. I also have abdominal pain that worsens greatly when I eat meat/fish and tomatoes, and an anxiety disorder (I do not know if this developed due to my skin problems or pre-existed them). I have never really had good skin since puberty, having acne in my teens, a brief period of relatively clear skin after antibiotic treatment in my early twenties then the onset of Rosacea in my mid twenties.

Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on with me? Do I really even have Rosacea or could some other condition be the root of my flushing? I was never checked for anything else when my doctor diagnosed Rosacea, and now they are reluctant to consider it could be something else. Does anyone have any clue why the Rosacea diet that seems to work well for others doesn't work for me? I am at a loss and really feeling quite sad at the moment. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
