Long term steroid cream use

Looking for help for my husband. He was put on alphaderm cream for psoriasis on his face and used it for nearly 20 years. This has caused real damage to his face, he suffers with really painful flare ups across his nose, cheeks and chin area. His new G.P prescribed balneum cream, dermol and oxytetracycline 250mg tablets. He has been on these for over 2 years but they don't seem to be helping now.
Can anyone suggest anything as anything scented irritates his face really bad, even other people wearing perfume and fabric softens on his clothes. He's getting quite desperate and has lost faith in G.Ps.
