Newbie - mid 20's, acne and rosacea for around 15 years

Hello all!

Another newbie here. I've lurked for a while and decided to be brave and post for the first time smile: I'm in my mid-twenties and I've suffered from acne for around 15 years now (at the moment, it tends to be just around the jawline which I think is a hormonal imbalance). At some point, this developed into Rosacea (I think in my early twenties - it was hard to tell alongside the acne). I've previously been on two courses of Accutane (age 14 and 22) with no desire whatsoever to go back on it (as a very last resort I think it's good for acne but I just can't stomach the idea of the long term effects it's been known to have). I've just decided to go back to the dermatologist after being a bit disillusioned with my previous ones (they didn't seem to know how to treat the rosacea, which seems to be a common thing reading on here!)

I'm currently 2 weeks into Erythromycin tablets (2 x 500mg a day) and Finacea cream (2 x a day). I'm cautiously hopeful at the moment because I feel like there is a slight reduction in the redness and it has definitely helped the uneven skin tone and the bumps I've previously had on my face. I'm also on a dairy-free (although I'm not sure it's actually making much of a difference - it might not be a trigger for me?) and very low sugar diet. I'd like to go gluten free at some point but I was weary of starting too much all at once and not knowing what is a trigger and what isn't. If current diet goes ok, I'll start to introduce gluten free too I think.

Whew that was an essay! Anyway, hello to all! x
